M. Arabatzis SA-Hellenic Dough is the leading company of frozen dough products in Greece and one of the largest in Europe. For over 40 years it has contributed to the spread of the Greek nutritional tradition, with its products spreading from generation to generation the nutritional value of Greek cuisine.

The company recognizes corporate responsibility as a fundamental pillar inextricably linked to strategic planning and sustainable development and carries out a series of actions to support society, its people and the environment.

Creating value for society

Guided by the principles of solidarity, love and respect for fellow human beings, M. Arambatzis SA consistently supports society and contributes to the work of charitable organizations through partnerships and social action activities. In 2022, it significantly strengthened the food supply program to vulnerable social groups such as children, multi member families & the elderly, offering more than 70 tons of frozen dough products, contributing significantly to the food crisis.The above action was implemented through the company's long-term cooperation with social organizations and unions, social grocery stores, church institutions and food banks. At the same time, the company strengthened social and cultural actions as a sponsor of charitable events.

Diversity, equal opportunities and human rights

M. Arabatzis SA supports and respects the diversity of its employees, promoting mutual respect and equal treatment practices.It follows the Basic Code of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ΕΤΙ) and proceeded to sign the "Diversity Map" for Greek Businesses, proving in practice its contribution to a workplace without discrimination. In addition, the company, recognizing human resources as the backbone of the company, strengthened policies aimed at the development and training of personnel through seminars. The training seminars were developed on safety issues with the aim of eliminating occupational accidents and creating a safe and healthy working environment.

Protection of the Natural Environment

Giving emphasis on the protection of the planet, M. Arabatzis SA aims to minimize the impact on the environment and applies procedures aimed at saving resources and energy as well as their rational use through relevant initiatives. During the recent investment & creation of the third state-of-the-art factory, special attention was paid to the selection of innovative solutions & automations that ensure sustainability, saving natural resources and reducing the environmental footprint.An important investment is the installation of 1MWp photovoltaic panels on the roof of the new factory with the aim of converting solar energy into electricity by utilizing it in the production process.In addition, an automatic lighting installation was carried out with the function of sensors and low-consumption and high-efficiency LED lighting fixtures. Furthermore, the cooling material of the cold rooms was replaced, from freon to ammonia, which, in addition to being more environmentally friendly (reduction of pollutants), also contributes to the reduction of energy consumption. Finally, through an automatic system, water resources are saved as the hot water produced for cooling the cold rooms is utilized for the needs of the factory and building facilities.
